Over the past several years, dozens of print-on-demand apparel companies have cropped up. It was a great gift… for a while… to have family and pet photos printed on anything from mugs to notebooks. Those are still good gifts but with a little creativity could be much more impactful and meaningful!
Did you meet at a local restaurant? Have the menu printed on a notebook.
Take a vacation this past year? Have a copy of the plane tickets printed on socks.
Ticket stubs, research dissertations, text message screenshots
, childhood drawings… the list goes on! Have fun with it!
This post and this blog is about your relationship with your spouse but, of course, this is a gift that can be widely applied. My dad wrote a children's book for his kids and nieces/nephews more than 40 years ago. I had some of the pages printed on socks for Christmas last year. This picture shows the mock-up during design.
Ah that's a very different way to think about print-on-demand!! You're actually so right though. Most pictures we take and print on mugs have less of a story in them. But a print of your PhD dissertation on your coffee mug is indeed a beautiful way to remember the hours, tears, and coffee that went into creating it.
