So we as MD Meets Techie came into being after we realized a lot of our friends loved our relationship journal. Today, after nearly 2 years of using it, we cannot think about not having it. It's become our central repository of fond memories, future plans, and crazy ideas.
Here's a list of everything we're doing right now on our Notion journal.
Plans for the month/year - we tabulate our plans on Notion and mark them on Google Calendar to create the suspense
A Kanban board of date ideas
Relationship prompts - whenever we feel disconnected, we have a collection of over 100 questions that we randomly select and ask each other
A Kanban board of travel destinations
A Kanban board of books the both of us wants to read
A Kanban board of stuff to watch on Netflix (and others)
A Roadmap for our relationship - with plans for the future on the countries we move to, plan for kids, buying a house, moving closer to family, etc.
A wedding planning page
A collection of pictures from all our trips
Religious/spiritual learnings that both of us wants to document
Both of our goals for the calendar year, broken down as atomic habits that we track daily/weekly
Principles and protocols for our relationship to help us communicate better and resolve issues
Important dates in our relationship - enough to ensure we have something to celebrate every other day.
A story page that talks about how we met and fell in love with each other - handy when sometimes you're put on the spot in front of a group of people and suddenly go blank!
A gratefulness page - a list of 200+ things we are grateful to each other for.
Here's a snapshot of what our page currently looks like.
